Neighbourhood Recognition Program Incentive

Applications for the Neighbourhood Recognition Program Incentive open November 1, 2024 and close February 28, 2025!

To support communities who are working towards or have already achieved a “FireSmart Recognized Neighbourhood” status, FireSmart Canada is launching a new incentive program.

NRP Incentive:

• $1,000 will be provided to new Neighbourhood Recognition Program applicants who meet the specified criteria, listed below.
• $750 will be provided to FireSmart Recognized Neighbourhoods who are renewing their status.

Criteria for NRP Incentive:

• Have a neighbourhood set up in the NRP Portal.
• Have a Hazard Assessment uploaded in the NRP Portal by the NRP Specialist.
• Have a Mitigation Plan uploaded in the NRP Portal.
• Complete and submit an application form for the Incentive.
• Within your application, outline how your community will use the funding to accomplish a task within your Neighbourhood Mitigation Plan.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this Incentive, applicants must meet the criteria highlighted above and stated within the application form.

Applications will open November 1, 2024 and end February 28, 2025.

*Note: NRP participants cannot apply for both the NRP Incentive and the Wildfire Community Preparedness Day Award. These two FireSmart Canada funding programs are not eligible to be combined.
